Confession Friday
Confession #1: I would rather stay home on a Friday night and watch a DVD than go out drinking.
Confession #2: I edited the last post at least ten times.
Genmai Cha? Russian Caravan? Vanilla Rooibos? Or how about just a plain old cup of Ramblings and Rantings. Yes? Okay, good.

Unless you're familiar with Daniel's work (which I wasn't) the first half of this doco is pretty boring. We don't really get to see his artwork or hear his music properly until way into it, and then it's kinda like 'what the hell is all the fuss about?' But his work really grows on you, and by end I was actually appreciating the simple brilliance of Daniel's angsty yet childlike drawings and songs.
Loaned to me by a good friend of mine (it's one of her all time faves, and now one of mine too), this is a beautifully written collection of fairytales re-told for adults. The fact that the book smells a bit like musky perfume makes reading it feel like I'm truly entering into a whole other sensual world of dark magic-realism, of counts, castles and mysterious locked doors.
